Bye bye now have fun
So in normal fedex fashion, they dont give a shit about my package and leave it on my doorstep totally frozen. ive had this before and figured out that AF will smoke fine after it unfreezes, but i have 3 bars of tangiers. i assume that after they aclimate after thawing they should be fine or am i wrong? mattarios2
there is a possibility it will never come out of shock (the reason why I had bad luck with tangiers) when i used to buy tangiers it would acclimate for weeks and never ever smell right, scoop had suggested to me that maybe it just won't come out of shock because of constant/drastic humidity changes where i live.So I would think you will be ok if you never had problems with it in the past, but my batches, once they were in shock they never came out. chinamon
i wonder if eric has ever considered making his product less climate-sensitive?im pretty sure his sales would go up if he did because i know of a few people that stay away from tangiers for that reason.edit: even i would start buying tangiers if it wasnt so tempermental. mattarios2
yeah i mean it isn't the end of the world for me, I like his flavors but there are other brands I like just as much, but yeah if it wasn't so touchy i would carry a good amount of it. jeremyk
man i really hate fed-ex they take forever to deliver and totally dont care about their customers. multiple time i've ordered tobacco or coals and even other things n they take forever to deliver. just the other day i ordered some climbing shoes and it took 14 days for them to deliever them. and for 5 of those day sthey were in austin, tx i live in san marcos,tx 20min away. they twice delivered them to the wrong place and lucky my neighbor 5 houses down recieved my package and put them in my mailbox. sorry just my rant on fed-ex and their retard drivers
shalowlow
I always wondered about the whole acclimation thing. I was gonna say that I never noticed a problem with Nakhla, but then again, anytime I buy nakhla, its probably been sitting in that same climate, and its never really been the most airtight packaging. That's probably why it doesn't bring the same problems, ironically because its not packaged as well as Eric packages... mitchard
Mine wasn't frozen yesterday, but it was noticeably chilly out of the box. After dumping it in tubs I brought it into work with me rather than leaving it in the car for the same reason.

Rani
Fed-Ex terms of delivery are that they will reimburse fully for any package damaged in delivery, but you have to file the claim the moment you open the package. And since it was likely frozen in transit because of it being the dead of winter, they'll probably claim weather as the problem which falls under that whole "act of God" out clause that every company uses. The big question is where did you buy it from? Hookah Company for instance usually ships direct signature required (unless you specifically request they don't), which means you have to show your identification and sign for it yourself. So I would call up the vendor, find out how they shipped it and if they shipped signature required and the driver got lazy as they sometimes do..... When then you still have a full claim. For everything. In the future though you might want to request your shipments be shippped direct signature required. Then if they miss you you can pick it up at the local Fed Ex which I do a lot of the time when I'm ordering expensive items. That's assuming your Fed-Ex branch is close. If one is, then you open the packages on perishable items right there on the counter and if anything is wrong refuse it as damaged and leave them on the hook for it.'RaniOh! And I suggest you call Eric himself and ask for suggestions. He may have some ideas on how to bring it back.....
Zyram
Well, now I have a similar experience, fedex doesn't even ring doorbells now? I got up this morning, and just happened to come over here about 15mins ago to the PC. Decided to check the tracking on my package, it says delivered! I'm lucky, my tangiers order wasn't frozen but it is pretty cold, they'd delivered it about an hour before and I'm certain they did not even ring the bell, as I was awake and in the living room where the doorbell is clear. Sheesh. I am acclimating some Passionfruit now, as I said, they were'nt frozen, but they're very cold. Should I set it near one of the heating radiators in my apartment for a bit? Or just leave it out in the open here?-Z
Bye bye now have fun
boho it was left in the hall of my apartment, which means it froze in the truck. i tried tropical revenge because it smelled the like pineapple and it indead tasted i like it too. but it didnt last 2 sets of coals even and i didnt get a buzz. Dylank0010
something similar happened to one of my friends except sort of backwards. This summer fed-ex just left the package on his doorstep which is on the southeast side of his house so it sat in the sun all day and just baked on the cement. Smelled like some serious swamp ass pines trees and rotten grapes (it was supposed to be tangiers grape) even after attempting to re-acclimate and resurrect it. Best of luck though. hope yours at least smokes well after awhile. We had to throw his out.
Bye bye now have fun
i think everyone is missong the point. it was frozen while still being shipped by fedex and not frozen by sitting in the hall. ill try kcherry tonight when my brother comes over
